Taste of nashville | Episode 3
Bar Otaku
Sarah Gavigan is the queen of umami — combining southern flair with traditional Japanese techniques
The word is Izakaya. A Japanese style bar with a variety of small dishes meant to accompany drinks or cocktails. Nashville has their very own Izakaya, and it’s lively presence is felt right in The Gulch. Bar Otaku is the spin-off of Chef Gavigan’s Otaku Ramen, shining bright in the hidden culinary hub of Music City. If there’s any doubt left in your mind about whether traditional Japanese food and Southern hospitality can mesh, look no further. Bar Otaku is the answer to all you questions!
